"The Kids Are Alright" (1990 studio tryout, Vuurland, Utrecht)

1990: for the next album, which we were already calling “The Great White Wonder”, we fancied the idea of working with The Paisley Perverts, who were the backing band of Beatle Hans over in Holland. Their local studio of choice was Vuurland in Utrecht (where The Nightblooms had recorded "Crystal Eyes"). Just to make sure it’d be nice and everything, before committing to the whole thing we decided it’d be sensible to try it out first, so we did. Two songs were recorded: one was a version of “Let The Good Times Roll” (which so much sounded like it really wanted to be Dinosaur Jr. that the entire song was abandoned for two years until it was resurrected with acoustic guitars instead for the “Million Seller” album), and the other was this “The Kids Are Alright”. It’s:
Steve – vocals, guitar
Michel – guitar
Cor – bass
Jerry – drums

We quite liked the way it sounded, so a few months later we did indeed record the album there. We ended up spending quite a lot of time there, actually: lots of “Million Seller” and most of “Optimistic Fool” were also done at Vuurland. Anyway, this was the very first thing we recorded there.

"Think Bubble" is an album (LP only) of 1995 demos for an unreleased Pooh Sticks album.
See 'About Me' for details.
