For a while, it looked like Tsar were going to be popular: big contract with heavy-hitting Hollywood Records after a bidding war, and a great debut album to boot. Their frontman, Jeff Whalen, liked The Pooh Sticks (he said he wanted Tsar to be Nirvana to our Vaselines) and was pretty nice about us. Jeff was obviously a romantic rock’n’roll dreamer too, and he would’ve fit right in if he’d popped round and hung out. Unfortunately an ocean divided us, but here he is on some American radio saying sweet things. Look, I played Tsar's "Silver Shifter" a dozen times today, is all.
"Think Bubble" is an album (LP only) of 1995 demos for an unreleased Pooh Sticks album.
