(Top 50 Countdown!!!) 23. King Harvest - "Dancing In The Moonlight"
Probably the best example of a million-dollar song being recorded with a ten-dollar attitude. Really, it sounds like piano player is in his own little world, like he’s autistic or something, while the drummer sounds like he’s actually paying more attention to the TV he’s brought along (you know, these sessions, they do tend to, you know, get a bit boring). It’s pretty incredible that someone decided that this was the take to use. It sounds like both axles are about to break and all four wheels are going to go spinning off in different directions. Even The Faces would’ve thought this was ‘loose’. Either it was actually consciously decided it was ‘right’, in which case that’s genius, or they just got lucky – in which case I’m going to ask them to buy my next lottery ticket.
"Think Bubble" is an album (LP only) of 1995 demos for an unreleased Pooh Sticks album.
See 'About Me' for details.
